About LUNARecon
LUNARecon is dedicated to landing our SideWinder Rover on the lunar surface by or before the end of the deadline set by the GLXP. We intend to launch our landing package as a secondary payload on a rocket heading to at least Trans Lunar Injection, possibly with the US, Russian, or Indian space agencies, and will have a small enough package for landing and roving that this will be affordable. To get there, it is our intention to sign sponsors this year and next to both help fund the GLXP effort, as well as to launch small satellites for them as Earth observation platforms. By doing this we will test our operations and camera systems in space. We already have our first sponsor initially committed and will fund the first satellite, to be launched in 2012, into Low Earth Orbit.
